You know you’re getting old when you start saying things like “ooohh that’s so expensive… things aren’t like they used to be…!” Or simply waving your fists in the air at the youths of today for having opinions… on everything! I recently was debating with my 5 year old nephew on how ridiculously expensive a Nintendo Switch is and ‘back in my day’ a Game Boy was far more financially reasonable (and just better!) I then tried to convince him that the mini consoles, all in one plug and plays are the way forward, but he mumbled something about Spiderman and wandered off!
So, I decided to look into how much the popular retro gaming consoles from the 1990s cost back then, and how much they would cost now in 2019 with inflation over the years. I am now of the opinion that my parents are heroes for ever being able to fund my childhood without selling a kidney on the black market! Check out the price comparison below for yourself.
